Stock Links will no longer be supported as of the end of June 2024 but you can still enjoy the same features in Base Products
The Stock Links feature and all of your existing Stock Links data will be discontinued as of the end of June 2024.
I use the Stock Links feature - what now?
If you wish to keep your stock linked as a group for your Variance Report, you will need to set up your linked stock as Base Products at your corporate Outlet instead. Make sure to do this before the end of June 2024 because you won't be able to access your Stock Links once it is discontinued.
I can't remember which products I set up as stock links - how do I find out?
No problem! Contact Us or start a live chat now and we will send you a list of affected products.
What is a Base Product?
Base Products serve the same purpose as Stock Links. Base Products are used to group multiple products together from different Suppliers. For example, instead of having 10 different versions of Tomatoes to choose from for ordering or adding to a Recipe Card, you can now add all of those versions from multiple suppliers into one Base Product called “Tomato”. To learn more check out our Base Products help guide.
How do I convert my Stock Links to Base Products?
Make sure you are in your Corporate Outlet. Then from the navigation bar, expand the Stock heading and open the Stock Maintenance page:
Find a product that you have set up with Stock Links by clicking the icon and then navigate to the Stock Links tab. An item that has multiple Stock Items listed on the right panel will be a part of a Stock Links group. In this below example Truss Tomatoes and Gourmet Tomatoes are both linked with the Group Description "Tomatoes":
Next we will be creating a Base Product and we will copy the Group Description (Tomatoes in our example) and use this as our new Base Product Description.
Also, take note of the Supplier and Stock Code for both of these Tomatoes so that you can link these products again in your new Base Product.
From here you can use this information to create a Base Product by following the instructions in the Base Product help article under the section "How to assign an existing Stock Item to a Base Product?".
Once you have created the new Base Product and linked all of stock to this Base Product you are finished!
Please Note: Next time you run your Variance Report make sure to untick Group by Stock Link and then tick Group by Base Product:
